Power Tool

Quick Tag Lookup

What makes tagging pay off. Search across all tagged conversations, across all supported AI platforms, in one place.

What This Feature Is Actually For

This is not a fancy search box.

Quick Tag Lookup exists for one moment: "I know I've already worked through this — I just need it now."

When You Should Use It

You'll feel the need naturally when:

  • You've tagged 15–20 conversations
  • You stop remembering exact titles
  • Browser history stops being useful

If you're not there yet, skip this feature for now.

Opening Quick Tag Lookup

Use the keyboard shortcut. It's the fastest way.

Windows / Linux

Ctrl + Shift + K

macOS

Cmd + Shift + K

You can also open it from the floating menu or the Organize tab, but the shortcut is the point.

How Search Actually Works

You can search by:

  • Keywords
  • Tags
  • Platforms
  • Any combination of the above

Results update as you type. No submit button. No waiting.

Tags Are Filters, Not Keywords

Clicking tags narrows results.

Selecting multiple tags means: Results must include all selected tags.

This lets you be precise without typing more.

Example:

Tags: auth + jwt

Result: Only conversations that include both

Cross-Platform Is the Quiet Win

Quick Tag Lookup doesn't care where the conversation happened.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — it all shows up together.

That matters because ideas don't belong to platforms. They belong to you.

Opening Results

Each result opens the original conversation in a new tab.

From there, you can:

  • Jump to the exact Q&A using the Navigator
  • Add more tags
  • Save a Forge Doc

Search doesn't replace navigation — it feeds it.

What Makes This Fast Over Time

The more consistent your tags are:

  • The fewer words you need to type
  • The fewer results you scan
  • The faster retrieval becomes

Search speed compounds.

If Results Feel Messy

That's a signal, not a failure.

It usually means:

  • Tags are too generic
  • You waited too long to tag
  • Everything is labeled the same

Fix the tags. The tool will follow.

Bottom Line

Quick Tag Lookup turns your past AI work into a private search engine.

You don't need it on day one. But once you do, it becomes hard to work without it.
