Privacy & Security

ThinkForge Chat is built around a simple rule: Your AI conversations are not ours to store. Everything else flows from that.

The Short Version

  • Your AI chats stay on the AI platform
  • ThinkForge Chat stores organization metadata
  • No cloud sync — everything stays local
  • Nothing is sold, tracked, or advertised

If that's all you care about, you can stop reading here.

Local-First by Default

By default, ThinkForge Chat stores data locally in your browser.

That includes:

  • Projects and folders
  • Tags
  • Conversation references (URLs, titles)
  • Personas
  • Forge Docs

Nothing leaves your machine.

What Is Never Stored

These are intentionally out of scope:

Your prompts
AI responses
AI account credentials
Private platform data

ThinkForge Chat reads what's visible on the page so it can navigate — nothing more.

Why This Matters

This design means:

  • No massive cloud storage of conversations
  • No ambiguous data ownership
  • No surprise AI training concerns

Your thinking stays yours.

Permissions (Plain English)

The extension needs permission to:

Read AI chat pages so it can index them
Inject navigation UI
Store your organization data
Open new tabs for branching

It does not:

  • Read other websites
  • Access other tabs
  • Track browsing behavior

Data Control

You can:

  • Export your data at any time
  • Delete projects, folders, and tags
  • Clear all extension data
  • Delete your account

There is no lock-in.

Security Posture

  • HTTPS for all network traffic
  • Encrypted data at rest
  • No third-party trackers
  • Minimal surface area

Boring is the goal here.

Bottom Line

ThinkForge Chat exists to organize your thinking — not harvest it. If you ever feel unsure, this page should give you clarity, not reassurance fluff.
