When Something Breaks

Troubleshooting

Most issues fall into one of three buckets: page didn't finish loading, platform changed something, or the extension just needs a reset. Start simple.

Try This First (Fixes Most Things)

Before digging deeper:

1
Refresh the AI chat page
2
Close and reopen the side panel
3
Wait a few seconds

If the issue disappears, you're done.

Floating Menu Missing

If you don't see the floating Navigator:

  • Make sure you're on a supported AI platform
  • Refresh the page
  • Check it isn't minimized or off-screen

Platform layout updates can temporarily confuse detection. A refresh almost always fixes it.

No Q&A Detected

If navigation shows zero items:

  • Confirm the conversation has at least one exchange
  • Wait for the AI response to fully render
  • Use the refresh button in the Navigator tab

New chats and half-loaded pages don't have structure yet.

Tags Not Sticking

If a tag disappears:

  • Make sure the extension has site access
  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Check you're not in incognito mode

Tags are stored locally. Clearing browser data will remove them.

Performance Feels Off

If the extension feels slow:

  • Refresh the page
  • Reduce very large projects
  • Close unused tabs

Thousands of tracked conversations can add overhead. Clean up occasionally.

When Things Truly Break

If something consistently fails:

1
Export your data
2
Restart the browser
3
Re-enable the extension

This resets most internal state without data loss.

Getting Help

If you need support:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Include what platform you were on
  • Describe what you expected vs what happened

Screenshots help. Logs are a bonus.

Bottom Line

ThinkForge Chat runs inside constantly changing websites.

Occasional hiccups are inevitable. Most fixes are fast, local, and non-destructive.
