Chrome Extension
The ThinkForge Chrome extension is your bridge between web browsing and your local projects. It works on AI chat sites, general web pages, and connects directly to ThinkForge Desktop for search, capture, and agent execution.
The extension runs as a side panel in Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers like Edge, Brave, and Arc). It has two modes: standalone features that work without the desktop app, and connected features that require ThinkForge Desktop running on your machine.
AI chat navigation
On supported AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Poe, Mistral, Grok), the extension adds:
- Navigator — a side panel tab listing every Q&A pair in the current conversation. Click any pair to jump directly to it in a long thread.
- Bookmarks — mark important responses for quick reference later
- Floating command menu — a draggable action bar on chat pages with quick actions (previous/next Q&A, save, capture, search memory, inject prompts)
- Auto-refresh — the navigator stays in sync while AI responses stream
Cross-platform branching
Send a conversation (or selected portion) from one AI platform to another with a single action. Choose a template — Continue, Summarize, Improve, Review, Explain, Code Review, or Expand — and the extension formats and sends the content to your chosen provider. Optional preprocessing summarizes long conversations or extracts code before sending.
Organization
- Tags — label conversations across platforms for cross-provider organization
- Quick Tag Lookup — search across tagged conversations with a keyboard shortcut
- Forge Docs — save AI chats or web content as Markdown documents
- Forge Images — save and organize images from conversations
Web capture
On any website (not just AI platforms), the extension can capture:
- Full page content
- Selected text
- Images
Captured content is saved as a Forge Doc or sent directly to a project folder on the desktop app.
Desktop integration (Forge Ops)
When connected to ThinkForge Desktop, the extension unlocks additional capabilities through the Forge Ops tab:
- Search project memory — run semantic search across your project from the browser
- Run agents — execute desktop agents with the current page or selection as context
- Agent dashboard — launch the full agent UI from the browser
- Open and create documents — work with desktop editor modals
- Import content — send AI output, full chats, pages, selections, or mind maps into desktop projects
- Project and workspace commands — manage projects, push workspace state, link/unlink
Quick commands
The floating command menu on AI chat pages provides one-click desktop actions:
- Save chat to project
- Save by tag
- Capture page or selection
- Save as Forge Doc
- Tag the current page
- Open the floating folder explorer
- Search memory
- Quick note
