ThinkForge separates application shortcuts from Windows-global hotkeys. Application shortcuts work while ThinkForge is active, including while the rich-text or code editor owns focus. Windows-global hotkeys work from other applications.
Application Shortcuts
The defaults are:
Ctrl+N — New Document
Ctrl+O — Open Document
Ctrl+S — Save Now. This explicitly flushes the active document, even when automatic save is disabled.
Ctrl+W — Close the active tab
Ctrl+Shift+P — Toggle Power Strip between hidden and its saved display mode
Ctrl+, — Open Settings
Save As is not part of the configurable application set. New documents receive an initial path through the normal save flow, and ordinary editing uses automatic save.
Windows-Global Hotkeys
The defaults are:
Win+Shift+P — Toggle Power Strip from any Windows application.
Win+Shift+F — Run the first configured Toggle Floating Navigator Power Strip slot.
Win+Shift+V — Open the Smart Clipboard overlay at the pointer.
Power Strip command hotkeys use the same path as clicking the slot, including its browser settings, Tool hooks, result handling, and Preview on Save. Global hotkeys are Windows-only.
Changing Hotkeys
Open Settings → Hotkeys. Application, Power Strip, and Smart Clipboard shortcuts are grouped separately. Select a field and press a new combination; Backspace or Delete clears it. Changes save and activate immediately. Global shortcuts require a modifier, and a duplicate or Windows-owned combination is refused without losing the previous working binding. Reset to Defaults also applies immediately.
You can also right-click a top-level Power Strip command and choose Assign Global Hotkey.... Drop-only commands and stacked child slots are not assignable.
Chrome Extension Shortcut
Ctrl+Shift+K (Mac: Cmd+Shift+K) — Open Quick Tag Lookup. This is a Chrome keyboard shortcut registered by the ThinkForge Chat extension, not a desktop app shortcut. It opens a lightweight popup for searching conversations by tag across projects.
Contextual Help
F1 — Open contextual User Docs search when a registered Help control is hovered or focused. On the Tools page, Help covers creating and adding Tools, page scope and filters, deployed search and refresh, selected-Tool settings and model choice, context and save locations, output actions, schedules and File Watches, details and management actions, context-editor actions, created-file actions, and deployed-automation controls. The folder tree's Smart search toggle and Project Navigator's Clusters selector also provide contextual Help. The Help window opens with a natural-language query for the active control already populated. Results name the matching section, show a short excerpt and guide location, and open the full selected guide at that section. F1 has no effect when no registered Help context is active.
Editor-Native Shortcuts
The rich-text and code editors retain their own editing shortcuts. Availability and exact behavior vary by editor.

Ctrl+X / Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V — Cut / Copy / Paste

Enter — Confirm input in name dialogs, tag add fields, and folder creation dialogs
