Contextual Help

ThinkForge can open focused help for the control you are currently using. The help window searches the bundled User Docs project, so its results describe the same released behavior as this guide.

Opening Help with F1

Move the pointer over a supported control or give it keyboard focus, then press F1. Its tooltip shows a short explanation and indicates when contextual help is available.

F1 opens a reusable, nonmodal Help window with:

  • A short explanation of the current control
  • A suggested question you can edit
  • Matching sections from User Docs
  • Links that open the full guide at the relevant heading

Changing to another supported control replaces the previous context and search. If no supported control is active, F1 does nothing.

Where Contextual Help Is Available

Contextual help is being added page by page. Current coverage includes many controls on the Tools page, including deployment filters, settings, context, output, schedules, triggers, and actions. The Project Navigator Smart search toggle and Clusters selector also use it.

Controls without an F1 note in their tooltip are not registered yet. You can still use Help → User Guide to search or browse all guides.

Search Behavior

Help searches only the bundled User Docs project. It does not switch your active project or search your own documents. Results show the matched section, a short excerpt, and the guide that contains it.

If the User Docs project is missing or cannot be indexed, the Help window explains that the documentation must be downloaded again or restored by reinstalling ThinkForge.
