View files

Open a supported file from Project Navigator, or use File → Open... to choose a file directly. Images, PDFs, videos, and CSV or TSV files use viewers rather than document-editing controls.

Use a main-window tab for CSV and TSV. TSV is not shown in the filtered project tree; open it with File → Open.... A separate document window opened from Floating Navigator does not provide the same table view.

View a CSV or TSV file

The table view uses the first row as column headings and shows the remaining rows beneath it. File information includes the filename and row and column counts.

This view is read-only. To change the data, open the file in a spreadsheet or text editor outside ThinkForge.

Complex CSV files may not display faithfully. Quoted cells containing line breaks are not supported, spacing and quotes can be trimmed, and cells beyond the header's column count are omitted. Use a spreadsheet application when preserving those details matters.

View an image

In a separate image window, Fit scales the image to the available space. 1:1 shows its original size with scrollbars when needed. The footer shows image dimensions and file size.

Use Close to close that window. Use an external image editor to crop, rotate, or otherwise change the image.

View a PDF

PDFs open in a read-only PDF viewer. Navigation and other viewer controls depend on your operating system.

If ThinkForge reports Cannot display PDF:, check that the file opens in an external PDF application. Editing and annotations are not a ThinkForge document-editor workflow.

Watch a video

Supported videos open with playback controls. Whether a file plays depends on its format and the playback support available on your computer.

If it will not play, use an external media player. Use Close to close a separate video window.

Find the original file

Use the file's context menu to reveal it in your computer's file manager, then choose an external application when you need to edit it.

Browsing a file does not make its contents searchable. The general project index does not extract text from images, PDFs, videos, or CSV files.
