Insights View summarizes the active project's explicit document-link graph. It helps you find highly connected documents, documents with no manual links, and the relationship intents used across the project.
Insights is project-level. Selecting a document does not recalculate the page around that document; document-specific details appear in the Project Navigator info panel when that panel is enabled.
Summary
The summary card reports:
- Documents — Documents known from the index and the manual-link graph.
- Manual Links — Explicit relationships you created.
- Connected — Documents with at least one incoming or outgoing manual link.
- Orphans — Documents with no manual links.
An orphan is not automatically a problem. Notes, captured material, and standalone references may be useful without an explicit relationship.
Link Intents
The intent distribution groups manual links by their intent label and shows a count and percentage for each category. This is a summary of explicit links, not semantic similarity.
Hub Documents
Hub Documents lists the eight documents with the most incoming and outgoing manual links. Select a title to load that document in the info panel, or use Open to open it in its editor.
Orphan Documents
Orphan Documents lists up to ten documents with no manual links. Use it as an audit queue when explicit project relationships matter.
Recent Links
Recent Links shows the five most recently created manual links as source, target, and intent. These rows are informational rather than navigation controls.
Document Details and Links
When the Project Navigator info panel is visible and a document is selected, it can show:
- The document title and Open action
- Pin and shortcut actions
- Editable tags
- Incoming and outgoing manual links with intent labels
- Smart-link suggestions from similarity search
Manual links are saved relationships. Smart links are suggestions and are not permanent until you promote one with Link. Existing manual links and the current document are excluded from the smart-link suggestion list.
Use Add Link to choose a document and relationship intent. Use a link row's remove action to delete a manual relationship. Changing a manual link updates Insights the next time the view is refreshed.
Smart Links versus Insights
Insights measures explicit manual links. Smart links are generated dynamically from indexed content and can change as documents or the index change. A document can therefore appear as an orphan in Insights while still having useful smart-link suggestions.
Use Insights for project-wide structure. Use the info panel or a document focus view when you want related material for one specific document.
