Platform Support

The Think Forge Extension version 2.0.0 supports eight AI-chat platforms. Site support depends on page structure, so a site redesign can affect extraction until support is updated.

Supported AI-Chat Sites

ChatGPT

Domains: chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com

Supports Q&A extraction, text-based navigation, page tooltips, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching. When the browser title is only ChatGPT, OpenAI, or another generic value, capture derives the title from the first user message. The same fallback applies when Desktop requests full-chat enrichment for an Android share.

Claude

Domain: claude.ai

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching.

Gemini

Domain: gemini.google.com

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching. When the browser title is generic, capture can derive a title from conversation content.

Microsoft Copilot

Domain: copilot.microsoft.com

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching. Generic page titles can be replaced with conversation-derived titles during capture.

Perplexity

Domains: perplexity.ai and www.perplexity.ai

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching. Its page structure is recycled heavily, so it requires more frequent re-extraction than most supported sites.

Grok

Domains: grok.com and grok.x.ai

Supports extraction and navigation, but distinguishing your messages from replies relies partly on content length and page structure. Long user prompts and short assistant replies can therefore be misclassified.

Grok appears in the branch window but is disabled as a target in the current beta.

Poe

Domain: poe.com

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching.

Mistral

Domain: chat.mistral.ai

Supports Q&A extraction, navigation, capture, insertion, and cross-platform branching.

General Web Pages

ThinkForge can capture ordinary web pages by temporarily injecting its extraction code. There is no always-loaded script on arbitrary sites.

General-page extraction requires Chrome site access for the page. If permission is missing or Chrome blocks injection, capture can fall back to a metadata-only document. Browser-internal pages such as chrome:// pages cannot be captured.

Think Forge Website

The extension has a small script for thinkforge.app and www.thinkforge.app. It handles website authentication signals; it does not provide Q&A navigation.

Branch Targets

Cross-platform branching currently enables ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Poe, and Mistral. Grok is present but disabled.

Branching opens or reuses the target platform and attempts to insert the prepared text into its chat input. A target site's interface changes can affect insertion independently of Q&A extraction.

Known Limitations

  • Virtualized conversations — ChatGPT and Perplexity can drop older messages from the page. Text-based navigation helps, but extraction can miss unloaded history.
  • Streaming state — Not every site reports an in-progress answer reliably. A refresh after generation finishes is the safest check.
  • Grok roles — Message pairing can be incorrect.
  • Site redesigns — Extraction can break when a provider changes its interface.

Troubleshooting a Supported Site

Refresh the tab after installing or reloading the unpacked extension. Then reopen Navigator and use Refresh. If extraction still fails, confirm the extension has site access, and note the site, URL pattern, and whether the page was still streaming.
